While the stresses of final year have prevented me from getting in a boat as often as i would like, i managed to escape revision for a very sunny day at Cardiff with ICCC and the Thames valley freestylers.
While freestyle isn't exactly my forte it was still a great day. The scoring system allowed people of all skill levels to compete and reach the finals. For the finals Cardiff kindly turned the pumps up to 12 cumecs and the features really came into their own with the final hole claiming several comedy swims including one from myself. I managed to come 3rd in the extreme slalom and the classic 'Harry Potter' paddle trick got me through to the freesyle final and a nice big picture in CKUK.
As all the ICCC paddlers freestyle skills were a bit rusty, and inspired by Daves NSR performance, we decided to go old school with our moves.

A big thanks to Scout (David Wortley), all those involved in organising and judging this event and Cardiff International White Water Centre for making this a fantastic event.
